As a Food Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that the food you prepare is safe to eat. You will learn about the different types of food contaminants, how to prevent them from spreading, and what to do if there is a food safety incident.

The Food Safety Supervisor Course (course codes SITXFSA005 & SITXFSA006) has been designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills that are required to supervise in the preparation and handling of food in hospitality & retail roles.
Students that enrol in CFT’s Food Safety Supervisor course will learn how to follow hygiene practices for food safety and participate in safe food handling in restaurants, hotels, cafes, and bistros – just to name a few. By completing this course, students will be able to help prevent foodborne illness and keep their customers safe.
The Food Safety Supervisor Certificate course is delivered via e-learning (online), which provides learners with the flexibility to study at their own pace in their own time. Once you have completed the Food Safety Supervisor course and achieved a passing grade, you will be able to download, save and print a PDF copy of your certificate.

A qualified third-party observer will assess the workplace assignment in a job or simulated workplace environment.
CFT online courses are available 24/7, 365 days a year, so you can study anywhere and at any time. The completion rate varies for each student, with some of our students completing the entire course in one sitting, while others take a few days to complete it.
The online course is designed so that students can break up sessions, so they are not overwhelmed with the pressure to finish the course in one session. CFT believes that the end goal is to complete the certification. The amount of time it takes you to complete the course is unimportant.

If you don’t currently have a workplace or workplace supervisor this practical assignment can be completed in your home kitchen as a simulated environment and observed by someone suitably experienced in food preparation.
If you don’t have anyone suitable you can take either images or videos of you performing these tasks and submit them to us as evidence that you have these skills.
Please note you do need to complete the Food Safety Program records contained in the assignment. You are welcome to use our template or you can submit actual records of your own.
Food Safety Supervisors in a food business will ensure the business practices governing correct food safety standards and codes are followed. They also keep track of staff knowledge on safely handling food and will enforce performance checks to prevent food practice breaches.
Your 3rd party observer needs to be a person whose qualifications are equal to or above the level being assessed, OR a person who has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the food industry.
If you don't currently have a workplace or workplace supervisor this practical assignment can be completed in your home kitchen as a simulated environment and observed by someone suitably experienced in food preparation.
